Tennis ATP & WTA Week 14 (04/04/11)

This week most of the top players aren't playing on the men's side. Mardy Fish is the highest ranked player, he'll be at Houston playing the US Men's Clay Court Championships whilst the Grand Prix Hassan II will be at Morocco. Fish is now the US No.1 so it'll be interesting to see what happens here but it is clay and most Americans don't like it. I think the action will be amongst the Top 4 seeds but I'd be interested to see how Grigor Dmitrov plays here.

Whilst at Morocco I'd say it's between Montanes and Gilles Simon but any of the seeds have a chance and maybe a few none seeds as well.

Whilst quite a few on the WTA also seem to be resting this week but there are still a good amount of top players out, however the Family Circle Cup does look slightly weaker than previous years. Caroline Wozniacki will aim to win another title on top of 2 titles this year already. Her main opponent in Section 1 will be Yanina Wickmayer, she could potentially upset the No.1 seed. Jelena Jankovic has been doing better recently so maybe she'll get through to the semis.

On the other side is Marion Bartoli whilst Shuai Peng has also been playing well lately. Finally in Section 4 Samantha Stosur leads but I don't think she'll win for some reason.

Finally last weeks champion Victoria Azarenka will be playing in Marbella at the Andalusia Tennis Experience. Will Victoria be able to keep up her form? If not Alexandra Dulgheru and Sara Errani will be more than happy to take her place in the final. But of course this is clay so all the the Spanish players will be a threat but so will Azarenka. On the other side is Svetlana Kuznetsova but I'm not 100% sure on Kuznetsova's form however if she is in form she'll be a huge threat.
