Australian Open 2014 - Day 6

The tournament is reaching its interesting stages with some real tough matches beginning to form. Oh, and we lose half a dozen French. Here are some significant results.

Milos Raonic (Canada) [11]
VS
Grigor Dimitrov (Bulgaria) [22]
3-6,6-3,4-6,6-7(10-12)

Dimitrov finally shows us his mettle in a good match against a tough competitor. Has he got more in the bag?

Benoit Paire (France) [27]
VS
Roberto Bautista Agut (Spain)
2-6,1-6,4-6

I think we kind of saw this coming but not in this way, this was a right mauling.

Rafael Nadal (Spain) [1]
VS
Gael Monfils (France) [25]
6-1,6-2,6-3

How did this end so tragically?

Garbine Muguruza (Spain)
VS
Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) [10]
4-6,7-5,6-3

Wozniacki is still a shadow of the player she once was and Muguruza took that opportunity.

Jelena Jankovic (Serbia) [8]
VS
Kurumi Nara (Japan)
6-4,7-5

Three Japanese in three rounds, Jelena I think you should avoid the country in the next few weeks!

Carla Suarez Navarro (Spain) [16]
VS
Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia) [20]
1-6,0-6

A real dissection of a fellow Top 20 player.
