Well the draws for next weeks tournaments are out and there are some interesting things of note. Let's start with Auckland - the Heineken Open.
Del Potro; the superman of late last season headlines this draw. Ironically his early opponent could be Ernests Gulbis who beat out last weeks No.1 seed Novak Djokovic - could it happen again!
Juan Monaco one of my favourite players is in that part of the draw also.
Last year I found a liking of Robby Ginepri so I'm going to look out for him - his first opponent will be Jose Statham - a New Zealand wildcard. Besides that Kei Nishikori is also in this draw, having Juan Carlos Ferrero as his first match - it could be tough.
In Sydney; the Medibank International, Djokovic heads the draw again hopefully it will be second time lucky as I don't want Paul-Henri Mathieu or Andreas Seppi to schok Novak Djokovic after a first round exit last week. Mario Ancic is also in Djokovic's quarter of the draw but if Djokovic is on form the draw shouldn't be a problem - let's just hope he has had time to reflect on the loss last week.
Tsonga could be his semifinal opponent - it seems like nowadays Tsonga is shadowing Djokovic in every draw! Rainer Schuettler, Feliciano Lopez and Tomas Berdych are also in that side of the draw.
But what's interesting is that Lleyton Hewitt is in this draw but not as a seed like we would expect probably a year or two ago but as a wildcard - could he cause a shock? David Nalbandian is on his side of the draw and we know how Nalbandian likes giving us shocks!
Dmitry Tursunov and Richard Gasquet are sadly 1st round opponents! Amazingly Gasquet is not even a seed in this draw. But anyway the Medibank International looks really interesting - can't wait for the 1st round action.
